About Wise Years Pro

Where mature learners are the priority, not the exception

Founded in Singapore with a single conviction: adults over forty-five deserve education that honours their experience rather than diminishing it. We create courses that are rigorous, warm, and grounded in real life.

Our story

Wise Years Pro began when three educators — a former corporate trainer, a mindfulness coach, and a community arts organiser — noticed the same gap repeatedly. Singapore offers excellent skills training for young professionals and generous subsidies for senior activity centres, but little in between for active, curious adults who are neither climbing the corporate ladder nor seeking purely recreational pastimes.

We opened our Bras Basah studio to fill that space. Our first cohort of twelve learners met in 2019 for a pilot programme on purposeful retirement planning. The feedback was consistent: participants valued the peer group as much as the curriculum. Friendships formed across neighbourhoods; alumni returned to recommend courses to siblings and colleagues.

Today we run four core programmes year-round, with additional seasonal workshops on topics such as memoir writing, intergenerational communication, and volunteer leadership. Our team has grown, but our class sizes have not — we remain committed to intimate groups where facilitators know every participant by name.

What we believe

Age is context, not limitation. The skills you need at fifty-five differ from those at twenty-five, but they are no less valuable to acquire. We reject the narrative that learning slows irreversibly after midlife and instead design courses that leverage the focus, patience, and self-awareness that often deepen with experience.

Education should be honest. We do not promise miraculous career reinventions, guaranteed investment returns, or instant emotional transformation. We offer structured guidance, expert facilitation, and a community of peers facing similar questions — outcomes that depend partly on your engagement, which we state clearly in every course description.

Our studio

Located on the sixth floor of the National Design Centre at 111 Middle Road, our space reflects the creative, forward-looking spirit of the neighbourhood. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlook the civic district; the room is configured for circle discussions, breakout pairs, and hands-on activities. Tea, filtered water, and light snacks are available during breaks.

We chose this location for accessibility: Bras Basah, City Hall, and Bugis MRT stations are all within a ten-minute walk, and multiple bus routes serve Middle Road directly. Parking is available at nearby commercial car parks for those who drive.

Who should enrol

Our courses are open to anyone aged forty-five and above who can commit to the full session schedule. You do not need prior qualifications in the subject area — curiosity and willingness to participate are sufficient. Some programmes, particularly Financial Confidence, include material specific to Singapore regulatory frameworks; international residents are welcome but should note that CPF and local tax references may not apply to their situation.

If you are unsure which course fits your goals, contact us for a brief phone consultation. We would rather help you choose appropriately than enrol you in a programme that does not match your needs.
